The cloud-based scheduler keeps track of the progress and dynamically updates the progress statistics on various dashboards and reports throughout the project management console.
Typically, the contractor scheduler fetches the actual start date and progress updates from the field task mobile app as input by the foreman in charge on daily basis. The progress of the parent-level tasks in the contractor schedule are automatically calculated from the progress percentages of the child tasks dynamically. The subcontractor project managers can also manually update the progress of tasks if required, for example, if a foreman missed updating task progress from the field or the foreman entered a wrong value. Once the SC PM is happy with the task progress updates, they can report the progress to the GC. This section explains how the SC PM can manually update the task progress.

Update progress for a task
You can manually update progress only for the last tier items of the branches in the WBS tree structure. The progress of the parent tasks is auto-calculated from those of the children at successive levels progressively.
- Navigate to your 'Contractor Schedule' interface
- Click on the 'Progress' column of the task item for which you want to update the progress.
- Actual Start Date - Typically, the actual start date is auto-fetched from the field task updates. You can edit the date if required.
- Actual End Date - The real completion date on reaching 100% progress of the task. This is auto-populated.
- Time to Finish - Enter the estimated duration required to complete the task.
- Progress - Use the slider to correct/enter the current progress percentage of the task
- Actual Quantity Update - Applies only to tasks specified with planned production quantity. Enter the actual work done/deliverables achieved at the time of the progress update. The system validates whether the realized quantity is proportional to the planned quantity and progress percentage. If not, the dialog shows a warning message to alert the project manager.
- Click 'Update'
The progress details of the task are updated in the schedule table.
- Repeat the process for all tasks and subtasks that fall under an item, so the overall progress of the parent items is auto-populated.
- Subcontractors can share the completion percentage of the task at the highest level, that is, the tasks assigned by the general contractor, with the GC.
Share the progress with the GC
- Right-click on the item assigned by the GC to notify its progress
- Choose 'Share Progress' from the options
A confirmation appears:
- Click 'Proceed' to share your progress with your GC
General contractors can enter their progress for the tasks assigned to their company. The process is similar to that for subcontractors, as explained above.
