The schedule interface allows you to delete unwanted schedule items like a phase, deliverable, task, or work package before publishing them.
- You can remove unpublished schedule items at any level in the hierarchy. If a parent-level task is removed, all its children are also removed.
- You can also remove checkpoints, inspection events, and milestones from the schedules.
Limitations:
- Only unpublished items can be removed from the schedule. Published items cannot be edited or removed.
- Only tasks that do not have any dependents can be removed. You cannot directly remove a task if it is a predecessor of one or more items in the schedule. To remove a predecessor task, first remove it from the dependencies of the dependent items, then remove the task. Click here to read more about dependencies.
- Subcontractors cannot remove tasks assigned to them by the general contractor, as those are already published.
To remove a schedule item
- Navigate to the schedule page of the project in the grid view.
- Identify the row containing the schedule item you want to delete.
- Right-click on the row and choose 'Remove' from the options.
Leaf-level items are instantly removed from the schedule. If you have chosen to remove a parent-level item, a confirmation is shown:
- Type the number of child tasks as shown in the dialog to confirm and click 'Ok'
The item is removed from the schedule.
