Add/remove/edit budget line items

Modified on Wed, 30 Oct at 1:58 AM

The budget module allows you to add more line items, edit the values, and remove unwanted line items from a saved budget at any time until it is locked and published. The finalized budget can be locked to protect it from any accidental changes.  Once locked, you cannot make any edits. Any additions to the budget can only be made through change orders.

To edit the saved budget

  • Open the budget module, if it is not already opened. To do so:
    • Click the app launcher,  then select 'Finance.'
    • Click 'Budget' on the top.
  • Select 'Original Bid' from the options on the left.

Add a new line item

  • Click the 'Add Row' button at the bottom

A new blank line adds at the bottom of the table.

  • Enter the values for the fields as explained on the previous page, except for:
    • Cost Code - Click inside the cell and choose the code from the 'Company Task Codes' pop-up.
Note:
The 'Company Task Codes' list contains only the cost codes in your company's master list. Contact your administrator to include the missing code if the code/division/category you want to select is absent.
Tip:
Use the search box at the top to search for the cost code you want to select.
  • Type of calculation - Click inside the cell and choose the option from the drop-down.
  • Click the 'Save' button at the top right to add the line to the project budget.

Edit line items

You can edit cost codes, task names, and values in any field in the budget until it is locked. This is helpful to correct any typographical errors, revision of budget amounts, etc.

To edit a line item

  • Click on the row/cell to edit the details.
  • Click the 'Submit' button to save the details.

Remove unwanted items

  • Click the trashcanbutton to remove the line item.
