Start a conversation on a submittal

You can open a chat to get clarifications, make announcements, and get/give guidance specific to a submittal at any stage in its life cycle. 

  • Open the Submittal for which you want to add a conversation 
  • Click the 'Collaboration'icon at the top right of the submittal details page.

The 'Collaboration' pane opens on the right with a group chat window specific to the Submittal. The title of the Submittal is set as the topic of the conversation. 

All persons, including the project managers of all contractor and architect companies in the Submittal workflow, are automatically and dynamically imported as participants in the conversation. If required, you can manually add more participants to the conversation. 

  • Enter your message at the textbox at the bottom

You can also format your text using the options at the bottom left and add image attachments from your local storage by clicking the image icon at the right.

  • Click the blue arrowbutton to send your message.
    • Alternatively, press 'Ctrl' + 'Enter' on your keyboard

All participants will get notifications on their project management console portal. The 'Collaboration' menu on the top indicates the number of new messages waiting for their perusal and response.

View members

  • Click the icon to expand the conversation window

  • Click the  icon on the top-right

The current members of the conversation are shown:

  • Click at the top to return to the chat window

Add more members

  • Click the icon at the top.

The 'Select People' pop-up shows the list of all project managers from the other contractor/architect companies involved in the project.

  • Select the people to add to the conversation
  • Click 'Add Members'

The participants are added to the conversation.

Tip:
You can add more members to the conversation at any time by following the same procedure. 

Remove a member form the chat

  • Click the 'participants' icon shows the number of members in the chat group

  • Click the checkboxes present at the top corner of the participant's name
  • Click the 'Delete' icon on the left to remove them from the chat

The employees are removed from the conversation.

Chat away! You can make announcements, ask for or provide clarifications, your instructions, opinions, advice, and so on, and make everyone collaborate on the Submittal.
