In addition to foremen generating equipment requests, the portal allows project managers can create equipment requests for various tasks on their projects. This is useful, for example, for PMs to add requests on behalf of others from whom the requests are received through any out-of-band communication like a phone call or email.
To create a new request
- Open the management portal of the project
- Click 'Site' > 'Equipment' on the left
- Ensure that you are in the 'Requests' tab
- Click 'New Request'
The 'New Request' wizard starts:
Step 1 - Select the task(s)
The 'Select Tasks' pane shows a list of all tasks assigned to your company.
- Task Name - The label of the task or scheduled item
- Pulled Start - The day on which the foreman is expected to commence the work on the task
- Pulled End - The day on which the foreman is expected to complete the work
- Select the task(s) for which you want to raise an equipment request
Tip: Use the search bar at the top to search for the task from the task list.
- Click 'Next'
Step 2 - Select the equipment
The 'Select Equipment' pane shows the list of equipment available on your company inventory.
- Select the piece(s) of equipment you want for executing the task(s)
- Click 'Next'
Step 3 - Select the dates
The 'Enter details' pane lets you select the period for which you want the equipment on-site and a description of your request.
- Required before - Enter the date prior to which you want the equipment to reach the construction site.
- Required till - Enter the expected completion date of the tasks, till which you want the equipment on site.
- Notes - Enter a description of your equipment requirement. This will be helpful for the dispatch staff to understand your needs and process the request accordingly. You can use the formatting tools at the top left to emphasize your points.
- Click 'Confirm.'
The request(s) is/are added to the list:
The 'Details' pane on the right shows the details of the equipment requested, the tasks, request period, and so on.
The request is forwarded to the dispatch staff. You will receive notifications on the progress of processing the request.
