Site superintendents, foremen, etc., can add personal markups, attach photos, and add special notes on the drawings to highlight jobs on specific spots in the construction.
The markups made to a plan can be kept for personal reference or can be published and shared with others. You can also set up access control for a selected audience group to share the markups.
To add a markup
- Ensure that the plan is open on the Sheets screen.
The toolbar at the bottom lets you create different types of markups on the drawing. You can also choose the color, stroke width, and background fill for the markups from the toolbar.
- | Box, ellipse, and cloud. Encircle an area or a spot on the drawing to highlight it. You can select the color, resize, drag, and position the item as needed. See Mark areas with shape tools and cloud for more guidance.
- | Add a line or arrow to point to a specific spot or item in the drawing. You can resize and position the arrow on any portion of the drawing. See Add lines and arrows for more guidance.
- | Add a text markup. You can enter your notes and comments then choose font size, background, and font color for the text to suit your need. See Insert text notes for more guidance.
- | Affix a photo/image to a spot on the plan. See Attach photos for more guidance.
- | Draw free-form/freehand shapes as markups. You can choose the line thickness and color for your markups. See Free-form/freehand markup for more guidance.
- | Highlight specific portions of text or drawings. See Highlight areas, dimensions, and notes for more guidance.
- | Measure distance using the ruler and set up measurement markups. You need to calibrate the ruler for the drawing dimensions as a first step. See Add length measurements for more guidance.
- | Configure the color, stroke width, and background fill color for your markups. Applies to all tools except the ruler and the image tools. |
Each markup is added as a layer. You can use the layer editor to lock markups, copy and paste individual markups/groups and more.
