The shape tools let you mark an area, a spotlight a location, or an item in the plan drawing with a square, rectangle, triangle, circle, ellipse, or cloud with a color of your choice and a fill. You can easily resize the shape to match the area to be marked.
- Optional - Choose the required border color, stroke width, and background fill color. See Setup stroke width, color, and background if you need guidance on this.
To add an area markup
- Open the plan to add the markup.
- Tap the shapes tool and choose the shape you want. Available options are Square/rectangle, circle/ellipse, triangle, and cloud.
- Touch the spot on the plan sheet where you want to add the markup
- Long touch the added shape to reveal the handles at the corners.
- Use the handles to resize the markup to the required size.
You can also use the rectangle/triangle and ellipse markups to measure areas and add them as markups. See below for more details.
To change the stroke color, width, and fill color
- Long press the markup to select it
- Select the Stroke tool and set the color and stroke width
- Select the 'Fill' tool and set the background fill color and its transparency.
The markup element adds as a layer to the 'Draft' group. It is shown in the layer editor on the left.
- Open the layer editor by touching the icon
- Use the icon to show or hide the layer
- Tap the ellipses button to open the edit options.
- Select 'Copy' to clone the element. See Edit markup layers for more details.
- Select 'Delete' to remove an element added by mistake
- Go to the next tool if you want to add more markup elements.
- Once you are done with the markup elements, save the layer group as markup. See Publish markups for more guidance.
Add length/area measurements
Prerequisite: Calibrate the ruler tool for the marked rectangles/ellipses to calculate the areas covered by them. See Add length measurements if you need guidance on this.
- Create a rectangle, ellipse or triangle markup covering the required area on the drawing
- Double-tap the markup to reveal the options and select the dimension to be shown on the markup
- Repeat the process to show the other dimensions
- Alternatively, open the layer editor by clicking the layers button
- Expand the group containing the rectangle, circle/ellipse or triangle markup
Tip: If the markup is a part of the currently created group, the group is named 'Draft.'
- Use the toggle switches in the menu to view the respective values on the markup.
The values are shown in feet/inches as the ruler is calibrated.
The available options are:
Square/Rectangle
- Area
- Length
- Breadth
Round/Ellipse
- Area
Triangle
- Area
Long press the markup and use the handles to resize it to measure unknown areas or lengths.
