The Chat app interface

Modified on Sun, 3 Nov at 5:06 AM

The Linarc Chat app allows office and field workers, including project managers, site superintendents, supervisors, foremen, workers, and crew members, to have real-time instant messaging chat-based communication with other team members at any location.

Context-based collaboration - Use group chats specific to individual items like scheduled tasks, submittals, requests for information (RFI),  change orders (CO), and punch lists. Only selected persons taking part in that item can be the participants in an item-specific conversation; hence sensitive information, data, and digital assets pertaining to that item are not compromised. For example, only the PM, foreman, and the assigned crew members can take part in a discussion created for a scheduled field task schedule,

General collaboration - Users can initiate group/individual chats in any context with any of the members, like foremen, crew members, project managers, etc., involved in the project. This helps make general queries, make announcements, get clarifications, and more.

Once you login to the app, the 'Projects' screen opens with the list of projects you are assigned to:

  • Choose the project from the drop-down at the top-left.

The screen shows the topics of all existing group chats in which you are a member, by default. The chats include the item-specific chats created for scheduled tasks, RFIs, Submittals, etc., and the general chats added for the project.

  • Use the button to open the other Linarc apps

The number beside a chat topic shows the count of new messages in that chat.

  • Click the inverted pyramid icon at the top right to filter the chats depending on item types:

  • Click the icon at the top-right to add a new chat

The menu items at the bottom allow you to navigate to the main menus:

Topics - View existing group chats, converse through the chat, start new chats, and more.

Account - The account menu lets you view your profile details, update your profile picture, change the password, and more.
