The Spec Book feature allows the general contractors and architects to share the project specifications books with all collaborators of the project. This helps the stakeholders to get details of the technical specifications, process requirements, ratings, etc., of the deliverables and the work items for which they are responsible. The Spec Books also act as a reference to identify the spec sections to link to items like Submittals, RFI, etc.
- The Spec Book module allows you to upload a comprehensive spec book that covers all divisions.
- You can also upload spec books that cover individual divisions separately.
- The module supports version control and allows you to upload successive versions of the same spec book upon each revision.
- By default, the latest spec book will be available to users. However, they can also access the previous versions as required.
AI Submittal Log Auto-Extraction
The AI extraction feature automatically analyzes multi-page PDF spec books to instantly generate your project submittal register. It parses the document to pull required shop drawings, product data, and material samples across all divisions, allowing you to review, adjust, and group submittals into organized packages to trigger subcontractor requests.
- Extracted items are flagged with confidence ratings so you can easily spot and prioritize entries needing review.
- The extraction provides a side-by-side view displaying the highlighted source text in the spec book alongside the extracted field data and the AI's reasoning.
- Package Selection: The system automatically checks for existing submittal packages with matching spec codes to easily group your items, or automatically creates a new package if a match doesn't exist.
Automatic Spec Book Splitting
The split feature helps you break down the spec book section-wise, extracting required divisions or sections into individual PDFs for easy reference.
- The individual files make it easier to navigate and find specific requirements related to specific trades, such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC, without wading through irrelevant details.
- The breakdown is helpful in linking the specific division to other items like Punchlists, RFIs, and more.
Note: Linarc currently supports Spec Book with spec sections in CSI master format. Support for other versions is coming soon.
