Edit Budget Allocations

Modified on Tue, 13 Jan at 4:39 AM

The allocation of funds from a budget line item to relevant tasks can be easily redistributed as needed:

  • Revert Allocations: Funds previously allotted to a task can be reverted back to the original budget line item.
  • Automatic Budget Update: Once reverted, the amount is added back to the available balance of the budget line item, instantly updating the total.
  • Flexible Reallocation: The restored funds can then be reassigned to the same task or redistributed to other tasks, ensuring flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.

To reallocate funds

  • Ensure you are in the Budget-Schedule Allocation screen of the project. If on a different screen:
    • Click the app launcherand select 'Finance'
    • Click 'Budget' on top, then select 'Allocate Budget' from the left
  • Select the budget line item to view and distribute its funds

The lower pane shows the tasks with their share of fund allotments and the task to which the remaining amount from the budget item can be distributed.

  • Click 'Delink' in the row of the schedule item from which you want to revert the funds to the budget line item
  • Repeat the process to revert funds from multiple schedule items
  • Reallocate the funds from the schedule items as required.  See the page Allot Budget to Scheduled Work Items if you need help with this.

Search, filter, and sorting options

  • Hover over a column header and click the icon to sort the rows in ascending or descending order of entries in that column

View Groups and Subtotals

  • You can get totals and subtotals of numerical data for any selected set of records by grouping and applying nested grouping. Use the  icon at the top right to organize the data by column headers
  • The system automatically aggregates relevant numerical values, giving a structured breakdown and a clear view of the grand total distribution. See Group and Organize Items in a List View for more details
