Compare Plan Sheets and Revisions

The Plan Sheets Comparison tool allows you to visually compare two different drawings—or two versions of the same sheet—in a single view. By generating a high-contrast overlay that highlights modifications in contrasting colors, the tool ensures you instantly spot every revision, update, and minor discrepancy that might otherwise slip through the cracks.

• Spot changes instantly: Easily identify additions, removals, or structural modifications between drawing iterations.
• Maintain total accuracy: Verify that all design updates are correctly reflected across your documentation, preventing costly mistakes before they reach the field.

This article covers how to select sheets for comparison, navigate the overlay view, and interpret the color-coded revisions.

To compare two sheets or two versions of a same drawing

• Ensure you have the correct first or primary plan sheet open. If you are not already on the plan sheet:
  • Click the main menu in the top-left corner and select 'Plan Sheets' under 'Documentation.' 

Tip: Hold down the Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) key while clicking to open the plan sheets screen in a new browser tab.

1. To open a specific version of a plan sheet, click 'Versions' at the bottom of the thumbnail and click the version number or the sheet name in that row 

2. To open the latest version of the drawing, directly click the thumbnail

• Click the button on the top right of the plan sheet screen

The 'Compare Sheets' pop-up opens:

The first sheet is set as the opens on the left by default. You can change it if required by clicking 'Change' at the top right. 

• Click inside the 'Select sheet code' field, type the first few letters of the sheet number to search, and choose the desired sheet or version from the results to begin the comparison.

• Click the 'Compare' button

The system overlays one sheet on top of the other and automatically highlights all differences. Changes are visually marked using red and blue indicators for easy identification. 

• Use the visibility options (eye icon) on the left to view the individual sheets.
