The project manager, any other staff member belonging to the general contractor, or any subcontractor can create punch list events during periodic inspections, site walkthroughs, etc.
Roles and Permissions: Only users with roles having 'Create,' 'Maintain,' or 'Manage' permission enabled for the Punch List module can create punch list events.
- The web console allows the event at any time. This is useful for creating the punchlist after you note down the defects from the site and record them from the office.
- You can specify people who participated in the inspection/walkthrough so that they are notified at each progress stage of the items added to the event.
Punchlist created by the GC
- The GC can specify the trade type and the subcontractor whose work is inspected during the event.
- If the work from different subcontractors is inspected at the same time, create an event for each subcontractor to include the defects to be assigned to the respective subcontractors
- All items added to the event are auto-assigned to the respective subcontractor.
- Once the subcontractor resolves the defects, they mark them as resolved and notify the creator.
- The creator needs to approve and close each defect after their inspection.
Punchlist created by an SC
- Subcontractors can also create events and include the defects identified during their inspections and walkthroughs.
- They can assign the event and the included items to themselves or any other subcontractor but cannot push the items to them directly.
- The event auto-saves as a draft and forwarded to the general contractor. The GC can then assess the items and publish the event to push them to the assignee subcontractor.
- Once resolved, the GC should approve the items and close them.
