The 'Details' tab within a punchlist item entry provides a comprehensive view of the item’s information and allows you to take action as needed. This article outlines how to accept or dispute an item assigned to you. Refer to the following sections for other actions that can be performed directly from the 'Details' tab:
Assess and Accept/Dispute a PLI
Responsible staff members, like the project managers of the assignee contractor company, get notifications on punch list item assignments. They can evaluate the item and decide to agree or dispute the work, depending on the nature of the work. Once accepted, the item is pushed to the field. The field in-charge people, like the site superintendent or the foreman, can then pull the items for resolution, assign crew members, and schedule them to work from their mobile application.
If enabled and necessary permissions are assigned, the foreman or the site superintendent can directly accept the work from their mobile application and pull it for execution. This article explains how users at the project manager level can accept the PLI work from the web console.
To accept a PLI
- Open the management console of the project
- Click 'Punchlist' on the top
- Open the PLI to accept. You can do this in two ways:
- Open the event in which the item is included and click the name of the PLI
- Open the 'Boards' screen and click the item from the 'Open' column
- Assess the linked items, description, and attachments to understand the issue
- Click 'Accept Work' on the top-right to agree to the item
- The item's status changes to 'Work Accepted' and is pushed to the field, enabling the foreman to pull the task, schedule it, and assign crew members to execute it.
- Once any of the assigned crew members start the execution, the item moves to 'In Progress' status.
